Dr. Chen is a prosthodontist trained and board-certified in both Taiwan and the United States. After earning his DDS at Taipei Medical University, he completed two years of post-graduate general dentistry (PGY) training at Taipei Medical University Hospital — including a rotation in oral and maxillofacial surgery — along with a year of prosthodontic residency training, and practiced general dentistry.
At Tufts he completed a prosthodontic residency that encompassed dentures, full-mouth rehabilitation, and implant surgery and restoration. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics since 2019, and became a board-certified prosthodontist under Taiwan's Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2022.
He is an Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he directs implant and digital dentistry training for graduate residents. His research on digital implant workflows, 3D printing, and AI in dentistry has been cited over 1,580 times — and shapes how he treats patients every day.
